Kai's Cafe and Restaurant

Came here for brunch. Food was amazing and so was the service. Jessie has amazing service and makes you feel welcome.

Had a really enjoyable evening meal there with my wife last night. It was cosy despite the cold weather and the food and service was excellent.

The food (salmon) was good, but there is room for improvement. It would be best to serve all the different ingredients separately in the plate, and not everything on top of each other, then everything gets mixed and it is not nice at all. Moreover, we were the third table in the restaurant. Two tables of 3 people each, our table of 2. It took 45min to get our dishes served. We understand the place might be understaffed. My partner's meal was overly salted, so could not finish it (scotch fillet), and not cooked to his liking (although he made sure with the waitress to get a properly cooked steak) Good things the complimentary entrees with olive oil, bread and dukkah and the kindness of the staff. It might take a while before we consider to go back next time, hopefully some things will be improved

Beautiful and cosy càfe, brilliant service and amazing food! The breakfast brought a tear to my eye, the staff are the sweetest and friendliest people, they really put love and care in what they do! Everybody who’s hungry, wants an amazing coffee and a little break from the busy schedule, do yourselves a favour and grab a flavour!

A group of seven of us had dinner last night at Kai’s and we all agree it is one of the best meals we have had in the Northern Tablelands in the 18 years of living here. The food and presentation was first class, and the chef was able to adjust three courses to cater for a food allergy and two vegans! The bathroom has a good change set up for an infant (we had a baby with us) and there are toys suitable for small children also. We will be back!

We were visiting Armidale, staying a few nights. We found Kai’s Cafe on google, and thought we would try it for breakfast. Wow! It was just beautiful. I had the big breakfast and my wife, Eggs Benny. Both were just so delicious. I had gluten feee toast, and this would have to have been the best gluten free toast I have tasted. Excellence service also and coffee was very nice.

This is our new personal favourite place. The steak for lunch is perfection. I am an exceptionally picky steak person, I need rare, blue and it is always perfect. Also, this is the one place where things are seasoned well. I don't need to add salt or pepper. As someone who salted things before tasting in the past, just don't when you eat here, the chef does a perfect job! The flavour profiles of everything we eat is all well considered. It has now become common that we are eating breakfast and lunch here. My husband has been caught having sneaky brekkie stops because they have perfected his coffee order and the customer service is perfect. All of the baked goods are lovely and perfect way to end a meal. I just can't say enough how when I am having a |day" this is the go to. We have work meetings here now. Any excuse this is the go to.
